Ambassador of The Netherlands swam for earthquake victims
Joep Wijnands, Ambassador of The Netherlands shows support and solidarity with the survivors and victims of The 6th February Earthquake in Turkey by participating the swimming contest across the Bosporus.
Wijnands, who was entitled to compete in the qualifiers, swam across the Bosphorus from Asia to Europe.
Before the competition, Wijnands said they wanted to give their best after the terrible earthquakes that happened earlier this year.
Wijnands said that, the government of Netherland has been contributing to earthquake victims since the beginning. And also people of Netherland. 150 million Euros was collected for earthquake victims in the national campaign, but we wanted to do something as the embassy in Turkey."
