Blind Date with a Book Activity

Ýhsan Doðramacý Bilkent University Literature Community and International Children’s Center organised an activity called “Blind Date with a Book” to raise awareness about child brides and to prevent purchasing books by judging their cover on 14 February 2014 in the front of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences of Bilkent University.

In the scope of the activity, books were wrapped like gifts to prevent students to see their cover and then a child brides card postal affixed to one side and content of the book was written to the other. It is aimed that the readers to show interest to only the content and raise awareness of child brides. Advocacy of an ICC’s project called “Early and Forced Marriages” was done at the event which received great interest from Bilkent University students.

This activity will be re-organised at the Book Festival on 7-11 April 2014.
