“Continuous Paediatrics Training for Family Health Physicians and Health Workers” of year 2016 launched in Adana

The first “Continuous Paediatrics Training for Family Health Physicians and Health Workers” of year 2016 took place in Adana on 19 January 2016. This training programme was launched by International Children’s Center (ICC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the universities and the private sector in 2012.

Opening speeches of the programme which has received great interest from participants were made by Dr. Tanju Altunsu, the Deputy Head of Adana Provincial Directorate of Public Health, and Prof. Tomris Türmen, ICC president. Dr. Eser Şimşir, the Head of Communicable Disease Unit and Dr Ufuk Demirdüzen the Head of Non-Communicable Disease Unit were also present at the meeting which gathered around 200 health workers.

Training subjects were; breast feeding and infant nutrition by Prof Dr Saadet Arsan from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, problems in infant nutrition by Prof Dr Raşit Vural Yağcı from Ege University Faculty of Medicine, vaccines and common problems by Prof Dr Ateş Kara from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and child abuse and neglect by Prof Dr Betul Ulukol from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. Participants had chances to ask their questions which provided discussion opportunities at the end of each training session.
