Second Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly of “Partnership Network for Preventing Violence against Children”

Creation of a broad based NGO coalition named “Partnership Network for Preventing Violence against Children” (hereinafter the Network or VAC Prevention Network) in Turkey was one of the first outcomes of the EU/UNICEF regional project “Protection of Children from Violence in South East Europe.”

International Children’s Center (ICC) and Association for Solidarity with Freedom-Deprived Youth (ÖZGEDER) have been acting as secretariat to the Network since November 2014.

Objectives of the secretariat are:

  • to undertake a series of administrative tasks as a means to mobilize the Network in its efforts to prevent VAC;
  • to facilitate monitoring activities of the Network in producing a report on state of VAC in Turkey;
  • to facilitate advocacy activities for the Network on VAC in Turkey.  

Second Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly of the Network was held on 8 May 2015 at the meeting room of ICC in Ýhsan Dođramacý Bilkent University, Ankara with participation of 35 representatives from 26 network members.. 

After election of Executive Board of General Assembly, 2013-2015 Network activities, 2015 Network activity plan and reports of Working Groups were presented and discussed.  

New full and reserve members of Executive Committee were elected and approved at the assembly.
